Gas and water pipes
Gas extracted through our wells is transported to in-field processing facilities via an upstream pipeline network. This consists of two types of pipe: gathering and trunklines.
Trunklines, made from steel, transport gas and water onward to a central processing plant.
Planned with landholders
Our land access representatives contact those with an interest in the land, or who are potentially affected by pipeline construction work, with the aim of agreeing both a mutually satisfactory route and compensation.
Access rules are agreed in partnership with landholders governing the timing, routes and notice periods required for our construction operations. Surrounding land is rehabilitated after works have been completed.
We prefer to route pipelines along areas that have already been cleared, such as the sides of roads, power line easements, property boundaries and fence lines, to minimise disruption.
For installation of the gathering, we use innovative 'spider plough' vehicles and fast-fusion welding technology, which helps us to minimise environmental impact and shorten construction time.
