Drama At The Gasfields

Rain postpones Drama At The Gasfields – QGC donates $100,000 for flood relief

QGC has postponed Drama At The Gasfields, which was scheduled for Saturday, 13 March, due to the extensive rainfall in the region, subsequent flooding and related safety concerns.

The Drama At The Gasfields site has been badly affected by the rainfall, and a decision had to be made today regarding suitability of the site for the community festival in order to give key stakeholders sufficient notice.

QGC will be contributing $100,000 for flood relief in the local region in recognition of the flood damage caused in the community.
Drama At The Gasfields will be rescheduled for later this year.

The many locals who support the event, including community organisations, Chinchilla State High School students and local suppliers, will again be invited to participate in the event.

QGC Managing Director Catherine Tanna said that the flooding of south-west Queensland had affected many families and, as part of the community, QGC wanted to contribute to the relief effort.

“QGC considers safety to be paramount in all of our activities in the gasfields and in the community, so we had no choice but to postpone Drama At The Gasfields,” Ms Tanna said. “We also hope that our contribution for flood relief will bring some help to those affected.”

Notification of the new date for Drama At The Gasfields will be made as soon as possible.
